Mt Wellington/kunanji is a wilderness experience, only 20 minutes from Hobart city. The mountain rises to 1,271 meters and is frequently covered by snow. The drive to the top of the mountain passes through temperate rainforest to sub-alpine flora and glacial rock formations, ending in panoramic views of Hobart, Bruny Island, the Tasman Peninsula and more.
The observation shelter at the summit protects you from the wind, but if you want to make it a bit more adventures, there are some great options for walks.
Take your pick: explore the organ pipes, check out the rainforest or marvel at one of many waterfalls.
